Hello everyone thanks for your interest in our group. We are a group of people from elderly to youth who are experiencing homelessness during the Covid 19 Pandemic. Shelters are at full capacity and are not accepting people. We are unfortunate to have to be living in tents but happy as well to be able to have a bylaw that permits in Victoria 24/7 tent shelter in place for the pandemic. I say unfortunately because a tent is not really much of a shelter for people in the winter or anytime and parks are really not meant to be camped in as they lack necessary facilities for supporting human beings in everyday life.It is the best we have at the moment. The City does not provide anything in the way of water service, tent repair or replacement, blankets and warm clothes, food or any other necessities of life. They do permit the encampments and we are grateful for that. We are asking if any would like to help donate by the way of go fund me to the Homeless Idea Podcast funding for blankets, sleeping bags, socks, healthy snacks, outreach activities and program s and general organization and development of peer support services.
