Helping People with Intellectual Disabilities
Each fall you may have seen Knights of Columbus handing out tootsie rolls wearing yellow vest with the words, "Helping People with Intellectual Disabilities." This drive is often referred to as the Tootsie Roll Drive, and is something Knights of Columbus do around the nation every year to help the dignity of every person. And of course, the campaign, which stretches back decades, is about more than just candy — it is about serving those with intellectual and physical disabilities. In order to help maintain the health and well being of our community, we will not be out selling Tootsie Rolls. We will miss seeing all of your smiling faces but keep reading to see how you can still be a Hero.
The Knights of Columbus Council 5573 not only conducts the “Tootsie Roll Drives” in their efforts to help people with intellectual and physical disabilities, but has also partnered with the Special Olympics since its founding along with other programs. Additionally this council has used their donations to help programs at all our area schools. I encourage you to join me in making a difference. The more we can do together this season despite COVID the more we can help support our community in addition to helping those with disabilities. Much gratitude in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to so many. These are unprecedented times we are in, so we just have to think outside the box this year
Your donation helps us raise every year helps to support children and adults with special needs as well as, our area schools, and the Special Olympics
