On 14th May 2026, our little boy Ozzie would have turned 4 years old
To honour him, I’m taking on a personal challenge - swimming 24km between 14th May 2026 and 24th June 2026 in support of Féileacáin and Every Life Counts, two charities that supported us tremendously after losing Ozzie.
The number 24 has become deeply significant to us.
24th June 2022 is the day our world changed forever - the day we said goodbye to Ozzie after the 6 precious weeks we had with him.
This challenge is about more than distance. It’s about love, grief, healing and remembering.
Since returning to swimming last May, it has genuinely helped me in so many ways, both mentally and physically. The pool became somewhere I could process grief, clear my head and slowly learn how to live in this new world without our little boy physically beside us.
Over the next 6 weeks, I’ll aim to swim 1km four times each week, reaching 24km by 24th June.
I also want to give back to two incredible charities that quietly support families through unimaginable loss. Unless you have been touched by baby loss, you may never fully realise how important organisations like Féileacáin and Every Life Counts are. They provide compassion, guidance, support and understanding during the darkest moments of people’s lives.
Four years on, we are still learning how to carry grief while continuing to live, grow and move forward. We are forever proud to be Ozzie’s parents.
If you would like to support my challenge, donate or share, it would mean so much
24km Swim for Ozzie.
For the 6 weeks he lived.
For the 4 years we have carried him with us.
Forever our boy.
