24-Hour Marathon Cancer Research Fundraiser
In 2024, the Year 9 cohort at Hammond Park Secondary College faced the heartbreaking loss of their friend, classmate, and a truly special young person, Leon, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Now in Year 10, his friends are honouring his memory by organising a 24-Hour Marathon to raise vital funds for children’s cancer research—an initiative chosen by Leon's mum, Sharon.
This fundraiser is more than just an event. It’s a powerful statement from a group of determined young people who want the world to know they have not forgotten Leon. They carry his memory with them every day and are deeply committed to making a meaningful difference for other children and families affected by cancer.
Together, the Year 10 students will work as a team to walk continuously for 24 hours around the school gym, motivated by their ambitious goal of raising $10,000 for life-saving research.
Please consider supporting the 24-Hour Marathon Cancer Research Fundraiser. Every donation, no matter the size, helps honour Leon’s legacy and brings hope to young people fighting cancer. Your generosity means the world.
