On Friday 9 October 2026 World Singing Bowl Day I will attempt something that feels both extraordinary and deeply personal:

To sustain the continuous acoustic sound of a single singing bowl for 24 hours as part of an officially approved Guinness World Records attempt.

The attempt begins at 9:00am at Cosmopolitan Arts in Leicester.

For 24 hours, there will be no restarting.

No second bowl.

No electronic loop.

Just one person, one bowl, one continuous sound and an incredible community helping me hold the space around it.

Why am I doing this?

Because, for me, this is about far more than having my name in a record book.

The last few years of my life have taught me a lot about how quickly life can change.

They have taught me about grief.

About love.

About resilience.

About what happens when the noise disappears and you are left alone with yourself.

And somewhere along that journey, I began to understand the importance of listening.

Not simply hearing.

Listening.

To your body.

To your mind.

To the people you love.

To silence.

And sometimes, to one single sound.

Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I'm a jazz saxophonist, composer and spoken word artist, and more recently my journey has taken me deeper into meditation and the healing potential of sound.

I've spent countless hours playing music.

But I've never attempted anything like this.

Twenty-four hours requires something different.

Patience.

Discipline.

Physical endurance.

Mental endurance.

Presence.

There will almost certainly be moments where my body wants to stop.

Moments when my mind starts asking questions.

Moments when 24 hours feels impossibly long.

And that is partly why I want to do it.

I want to find out what happens when, instead of running away from discomfort, I stay.

When I breathe.

When I listen.

When I continue.

But I cannot do this alone.

Although I will be the person playing the bowl, there is a whole team of people behind this attempt.

For Guinness World Records, the 24 hours must be properly witnessed, measured, filmed and documented.

We need independent witnesses.

Evidence recorders.

Professional sound measurement.

Continuous video evidence.

Technical support.

Live-streaming.

People monitoring equipment.

People helping throughout the night.

And volunteers making sure everybody involved is fed, hydrated and looked after.

Some people are already generously giving their professional time to help make this possible.

So I'm raising £1,300 to support the event and, importantly, to support the people helping me make it happen.

Your donations will help towards:

• Food, drinks and refreshments for our volunteers and witnesses
• Travel and expenses for members of the professional verification team
• Cameras and 24-hour evidence recording
• Memory cards, drives and backup storage
• Livestreaming equipment and connectivity
• Technical equipment and backup power
• Printing, signage and Guinness World Records evidence documentation
• Wellbeing and practical support throughout the 24 hours
• Unexpected costs that arise during an event of this scale

You can be part of the 24 hours.

We are planning to livestream the attempt across TikTok, YouTube and Kick, which means wherever you are in the world, you will be able to drop in.

You might join us at hour one.

You might check in at midnight.

You might find us at 4am when everybody is tired.

Or you might be there as we approach that final hour.

And I think that is going to be one of the most beautiful parts of this experience.

Although there will only be one person playing the bowl, there could be hundreds or thousands of people listening.

Every donation matters.

£5 can help provide refreshments for someone volunteering their time.

£10 can help feed a member of the team during the 24 hours.

£25 can contribute towards evidence and recording equipment.

£50 can help support the technical infrastructure needed to document and livestream the attempt.

And larger donations can make a significant difference to the overall costs of delivering the event.

But please know this:

If you cannot donate, sharing this page is also support.

Share it with a friend.

Share it with your workplace.

Share it on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or WhatsApp.

Send it to somebody who believes in ambitious ideas.

Because I don't want to reach the end of those 24 hours and feel that I did it alone.

I want to look around and see the volunteers.

The witnesses.

The technical team.

The people watching online.

The people who donated £5.

The people who shared the link.

The people who sent a message at 3am saying:

Keep going.

And know that somehow, all of those people were part of the sound too.

24 HOURS. ONE BOWL. ONE SOUND.

For me, this is a world record attempt.

But it is also an experiment in presence.

An act of endurance.

A meditation.

A celebration of community.

And a reminder that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply stay present long enough to listen.

Thank you for believing in this idea.

Thank you for supporting the people helping to make it possible.

And thank you for becoming part of the journey.

Let's make sound history together.
