Help Me Protect My Grandson from Sexual Abuse
It started when he was 4 years old.
My daughter started divorce proceedings 6 years ago because her husband abused her emotionally, spiritually, and verbally and her 16 year old son physically. Then, during the first visitation with my youngest grandson, he abused him. Even now at 9 years old, my grandson reports that his father is still abusing him.
My daughter reported the abuse to her attorneys and the Virginia Guardian ad litem in 2010 and nothing was done! It was reported to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) in 2011 and 2012. A North Carolina therapist reported it again in 2015 with no help for my grandson. Her ex-husband took her to court in Virginia where the judge called her a lying vindictive woman creating the problem.
Two psychologists in North Carolina disagree with that VA judge and the current VA Guardian ad litem and have the documentation to prove that what my grandson is saying is true. However, the DHSS reports from the 2015 investigation have been sealed by a North Carolina judge and he will not allow this information to be released to the Virginia courts, where the abuser resides.
I am trying to protect my grandson but the courts won’t let me. His father could obtain full custody and then we will have no means to save my grandson from the emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. My daughter is working 2 full time jobs and we have pooled our savings and even our retirement accounts together with the funds from selling our personal belongings to pay for the legal fees. But it is not enough.
In a few weeks we will go to court again on June 13 & 14th and my daughter will have no representation or witnesses if she cannot raise $13,147 immediately. The psychologists will only testify if they are paid $6,000. The Virginia attorney needs $2,147currently due, plus $5,000 to replenish his retainer for him to continue on the case to protect my grandson. All of this must be paid by the end of next week, May 27.
Our next hurdle will be paying for continued attorney fees through court; court costs, travel expenses to the hearings, and Guardian ad litem additional fees totaling approximately $30,000.
My grandson needs our protection and that of the courts. We need your help.
Any donations above & beyond what is needed for my daughter & grandson's case will be used to advocate for change to the Federally Mandated Reporting Law.
I will be making all withdrawals due to the pending legal proceedings. I will maintain detailed information on all transactions of donated funds.
