We are adopting!!! Paul and I want to start by thanking you for reading about our journey. This past February, Paul and I celebrated 11 years as a couple, and in May we celebrated 4 years of marriage. Over the last 11 years we have been through a lot together; graduating high school and college, moving to Monterey and back again, and finding careers that we love. Even though our relationship started when we were just 17, we have always known that we wanted to become parents. Although we wanted to have biological children one day, we knew in our hearts that we wanted to adopt as well.
Over the past 4 years we have tried for the family that we always dreamed of. Shortly, before our wedding I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) but was told by my doctor that I was young enough that it should not be a problem. This has turned out not to be the case. After trying medications, vitamins, and different diets we decided to see fertility specialists. After several weeks of tests and examinations we were told that our best option to conceive is IVF, and even then, our chances are not great. Despite being devastated, we are not the kind of people to not act, and the research on adoption began!
For the past couple of years, we have enjoyed living in a beautiful apartment community in El Dorado Hills surrounded by parks and close to our families. More than anything we want to share the wonderful life we have built with a child of our own. Now is the time, we are going to adopt! We want more than anything to become parents and we hope this is how it will happen!
As some of you may know, adoption is expensive and many of the local agencies require that we are able to pay for the majority of services upfront. We have been able to save up some money to start, but not nearly enough. We have been told with the cost of a home study, the adoption, and legal fees it will be at least $25,000. After many discussions with family and friends, we have decided we need a little help. If you are able to support our dreams, we will be forever grateful! We want all of you to follow our adoption adventure and help bring a child into our home to love. Whether you are able to offer financial or emotional support, we appreciate your love and support.
Thank You!
