Jump Rope for Justice

Donation protected
Jump Rope for Justice was created by Myles Silverman and Bryce Noel as a means to combine a healthy activity and to spread awareness about Anti-Semitism and Black Lives Matter.

The Founders:
Myles Silverman and Bryce Noel are currently both students at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY. Silverman, 23yrs old, a rising second-semester Senior, and Noel 20yrs old, a rising Junior. Through their brotherhood at the Psi Triton chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, they began to become accustomed to the ideals of philanthropy and how they could work together to make the world a better place. Silverman and Noel work together as President and Vice President of their fraternity and have since formed a strong friendship and bond; feeding off of each other's creativity and values to do their part to help and try to give back.

The Idea:
This summer, Myles and Bryce have been challenging each other through social media with jump roping competitions; the other day, while Myles was out training/jumping, he thought of Jump Rope for Justice. Jump Rope for Justice is a gofundme that Myles and Bryce will create and 100% of donations will go to charity; 50% to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and 50% to an organization similar to Black Lives Matter (as  Myles is Jewish and Bryce is African American).

Why:
We live in a time period where Anti-Semitism and police brutality have become normalized. However, through the nation's activism, we noticed how ignorance was only putting down another oppressed group.  Instead of the Jewish community and the Black community fighting amongst each other, we figured we wanted to be the route of the two oppressed groups to work together. Our mission is to help promote awareness while simultaneously, through a healthy activity, make the world a more enjoyable place for everyone.
Jump rope for Justice brings awareness to the case of Breonna Taylor, police brutality, and the undermined anti-semitism that takes place all over the world.
Jump Rope for Justice also encourages participants to engage in a healthy activity. As the world is currently fighting a pandemic, we understand the difficulties of gyms being closed and trying to stay in shape; through Jump Rope for Justice, participants are able to take part in a cardio workout in the means of their own home.

How Jump Rope for Justice works:
- 10 jumps = $1
- The participant can either jump themselves or challenge someone to accomplish the jumps
           - I.e. 100 jumps = $10; the person that is challenged must complete the jumps and select three to participate (have 24hrs to complete)
- 100% of proceeds are donated
           - ½ to anti-semitism

           - ½ to Movement Alliance Program to "fight for racial justice and equality for Black and brown communities."
