Fishing is part of the fabric of my family. I grew up fishing and camping with my father regularly.  It changed my life. It took me away from my hometown of Los Angeles, if just for a moment, and gave me a place to be myself, be free, and be at peace with my surroundings. 

As I head into the twilight of my life, I would like to share the joy and value of fishing with many more. To accomplish this, I am laying the groundwork for a nonprofit organization called Fishing Horizons. The organization will connect with local students, families, and neighbors to take them on 1-3 day excursions at nearby lakes and camping grounds. In my research, I have learned that 80% of LAUSD students are at or under the poverty line. Many of these kids do not have an escape from their surroundings, or tools to deal with their harsh reality. Fishing Horizons will change that. 
 
If we have learned anything from Covid-19, it is that we must connect with our community outdoors in spaces that can be socially distanced. These trips will be safe for all participants and adhere to CDC recommended guidelines.
 
Before I can launch, I am seeking startup funds to repair my boat and upgrade my truck that will tow it. Unfortunately, the events and entertainment industry has been severely impacted by Covid-19. Therefore, I cannot afford to fund this project on my own. With help from my friends, family, and community, I can raise enough money to get Fishing Horizons off the ground. I will make videos and updates to share my progress with all my donors.
