Donation protected
We’re raising funds for Brendon Adams and his driver/support.
2gether We Walk is a prayer walk starting August 1st from the Goerge Floyd memorial (Minneapolis) to the Elija McClain memorial in Aurora Colorado.
Would you support me through this journey? A journey of LOVE, Truth and Reconciliation. A word that’s even more powerful if we strive to live it. My prayer is that you see my heart and stand for #JusticeAndPeace4All.
We need:
Prayer partners 24/7
Car rental/SUV Preferred
Rain gear
Shoes - I got 2 Pairs (would like 1-2 more)
Socks
First Aid Items
Food/gas gift cards (keep in mind stores in route)
Hotel vouchers
Cash/Visa cards
We’ll need other items to assist us in our day to day, for we’ll be gone approximately a month.
Being a black man from South Africa, having lived through and survived Apartheid, I really thought I would never see the horrors of my past repeated here in America. But sadly I have been wrong over and over. Like many I have been moved to action, anger, compassion, fear, and a variety of other emotions after the murder of George Floyd, the protests and rioting that followed in response, and of course the Covid-19 crisis that has affected us all the last 4.5 months.
I have lived a life hoping for, fighting for, singing for, and praying for Reconciliation. But like many I am tired. I’m tired because Reconciliation is a nice concept on paper. People get motivated by an event or movement but usually just touch the surface of reconciliation. As soon as you go a little deeper to confront the issue people tend to resist and become even more polorized from each other. And like many I don’t know what to do. But I know how to pray. And I know how to walk. So I am responding with both.
My walk is about #JusticeAndPeace4All
There are so many issues that can go under this.
1. Racism/ systemic and individual
2. Rape and Killing of women and children
4. Inequality for people of color in many industries, including the much overlooked music industry.
5. Native American/First Nation people’s Rights.
6. Sex trafficking
7. COVID-19, lack of resources/response, politicizing.
These are only a few. Please feel free to add what I can walk for and we can pray for together while I’m walking. I will be live daily. We will virtually walk 2gether and pray 2gether and demand #JusticeAndPeace4All 2gether.
We need your support in many ways.
Reconciliation starts with me. It’s important that as a father, husband and leader of color that I clean/sweep in front of my own door. I should not point fingers, yet ask “what can I do to make someone else’s life be better?” By walking for this long, I am hoping to step towards freedom for someone. 2gether We Walk can change all of us!
