The NorthStar News & Analysis

I am raising money for The NorthStar News & Analysis, an online newspaper that directly targets black men between the ages of 30 and 64.

The NorthStar publishes original articles on politics, healthcare, business, finance, education, wrongful convictions, HIV/AIDS, Formula 1 racing, arts and culture and other subjects and issues that affect black men throughout the world.

The NorthStar's mission is to better inform black men, present an authentic image of black men and in doing both, address a glaring gap and damaging distortions in the media.

I will use the money to publish. Publishing costs include paying a copy editor, a consultant, a webmaster, buying photographs and hiring freelance writers.

I have 35 years of experience in the newspaper business, having worked for the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and the Philadelphia Daily News. I have been nominated three times for the Pulitzer Prize.

In 2012, the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) named me Entrepreneur of the Year.

The NorthStar's website is www.thenorthstarnews.com. My telephone number is [phone redacted].
