Help Us Rebuild Our Therapeutic Riding Centre
Donation protected
Hi there, we are trying to fund raise for the cost of buying and building our new home where we help disabled and neurodivergent children with equine therapy.
Let me explain.
My name is Georgia Lillis and I am 30 years old, I am the owner and head coach at The Royal Stables. We opened in Loughshinny, Skerries, Co Dublin in October 2018 and have served the local community and further afield ever since. We have seen so many amazing children come through our gates and make unbelievable progress.
This summer we spent a month doing up the yard (painting, making a viewing area and other improvements) then on one of the last Thursdays of July we got told by our landlord that we had six months to leave. To say we were shocked is an understatement. Some of the children overheard and it send them into shock. A lot have not been able to eat or sleep with the fear of us having to close our doors, others who are neurotypical have been having panic attacks.
We have created a little community in our yard, we are like a family. We want to keep our family together.
I know the power of healing that horses have. I was 16 when my mother was killed by my father and if I wasn’t for horses I don’t know where I would be right now. Horses have kept me sane and on this earth.
We are trying to find land near where we are currently to allow us to continue to serve the same people. So we are asking people to help us in any way they can. I have linked the article from the Irish Times so that you can read more about our story. Thank you for reading. You can follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Tictok.
