My name is Doug Burton.  I am an ATP (Assistive Technology Professional) in the complex rehabilitation technology field.  I help build customized wheelchairs for children and adults.  The wheelchairs I build are high end manual and power wheelchairs.

This year Bethel Ministries International gave me the greatest opportunity.  To become part of their sponsored mission trip to Guatemala.  Here is some information on their ministry: 

             Bethel Ministries International, an inter-denominational ministry, exists to advance a social transformation by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. We meet the spiritual, physical, intellectual, and emotional needs of individuals, and we desire that every person use their talents and gifts as we network them together to meet the wide variety of needs that this world has.
The founding of Bethel Ministries International, brought an opportunity that God opened the doors for us to serve Ministerio Cristiano Bethel wheelchair shop and distribution center in Guatemala, an organization which repairs and distributes wheelchairs to the disabled of Central America. Little did we know we were stepping into the greatest years of Christian service we have experienced to date.  Now, with over 17 incredible years here in Guatemala, and the founding of Bethel Ministries International we are thrilled to see the ministry expanding beyond our dreams.      Please help me raise the necessary out of pocket funds so I can go on this mission trip.  Your help will allow me to use my knowledge and God given talents.  Your funds will help give mobility back to children and adults in Guatemala.  They desperately need our help.  for 20 years I have built wheelchairs and helped people become mobile.  This has been both my passion and my career.  I will use funds raised from this campaign for necesary out of pocket volunteer costs.  Your funds will help pay for airfare from Nashville, TN to Guatemala.  Your funds will help me cover lodging and transportation in Guatemala.  Your funds will help with the necessities, both in preparation for the trip and while abroad.

 This year's mission group has already picked the dates for an October mission trip.  The estimated out of pocket cost per volunteer for this mission trip is $3000.00.  I am asking for both monetary and spiritual assistance.  Whatever you might be able to provide to help me reach my goal.  This is an organization and mission that I would like to continue with for years to come.  Using my talents to help others brings me such joy.  Seeing children and adults becoming mobile again brings me tremendous joy. Seeing a bedridden person experience mobility again is priceless.  I cannot let the opportunity to spread that enjoyment abroad pass.
