Help Jenni & Claire Adopt Baby KJ

Donation protected
We have some exciting news that we're so happy to finally share!

There is currently a baby in a womb of an amazing woman, and that woman has given us the chance to be parents by working with us on an adoption!

Baby KJ is due on December 29th, 2020. We are so excited to love on this baby and bring them into our home and lives. The pregnancy is going very well, so far. We have retained our lawyer and social worker and everything is on track. While we know that we can financially handle the day to day expenses and emergencies of having a child, we do need help with the large fees that we will incur in the coming months.

We have been incredibly fortunate to maintain work during the global crisis that is 2020. But we still very much need help in bringing Baby KJ home. We did not actively seek out adoption, even though we have always planned on eventually figuring it out. The Birth Mother reached out to us about KJ and we immediately set things in motion. Seeing as how we both work in non-profits, saving enough in nine months to cover all of this would be nearly impossible. So, we humbly reach out to friends, family, and strangers, to assist and join us in this journey of life that we are now on.

If you're new to the adoption process, some of the costs we are responsible for include:
-Legal Fees for us and the Birth Mother
-Medical and Living Expenses for the Birth Mother in the final trimester and after the birth
-Adoption Agency Fees for Social Worker and Home Study

The $20,000 we are hoping to raise won't cover everything, but it sure will help immensely. We know that the economy and the world is scary right now and there are so many causes that need support, but even the smallest donation would help us realize our dream of being parents.

A little bit about us, Jenni and Claire met in 2002 while studying theatre at Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina. We began dating in 2005, and married in 2015. We now live in Memphis, TN where there is a thriving arts scene. Claire is a dedicated member of the theatre community in Memphis, where she is an educator, director, and actor. Claire is currently the Community Engagement Coordinator at Theatre Memphis, a theatre celebrating its 100th season and was honored with the Diamond Crown Award from the American Association of Community Theatres.

Jenni finished her PHD in English with the University of Memphis last year. Her dissertation explores the representation and treatment of characters with physical disability in modern and contemporary plays. Jenni has a long standing history working at the Memphis Jewish Community Center where she is a teacher in the Early Childhood Center.

If you made it this far thank you for your time in reading. We know that was a lot of information but we feel you deserve to know who we are and how we got to this exciting time. If you are unable to donate currently, please consider sharing this campaign!
