Donation protected
The community has been reaching out in support of me; Weidmayer Pierre, 19-year-old Palm Beach County activist and resident, looking for ways to donate so that he can continue to put all of his energy into this effort. This GoFundMe campaign will directly contribute to My community organizing, fighting for policy change and social justice. Immediately, these funds will help to provide food, water, sanitation and personal protective equipment at the marches, rallies, and peaceful protests That I organize. Long-term, these funds and this work will form a new non-profit, The Reformers Movement, to serve lower-income communities and push for reform in communities experiencing systemic racism.
In Weidmayer's words, "First off, I am truly grateful for you all and thank everyone who has come to the marches and supported from a distance. I cannot stop until change occurs so I will use EVERY ounce of my being to push for REFORM. Being an activist is an incredibly involved role from planning events and meetings to attending press conferences, sending press releases, conversing with experts, learning about how to create policy change, purchasing food and water for protestors and organizing marches. I am a hard worker who - despite growing up in poverty and going through very tough obstacles - was able to graduate high school as the Senior Class President. Since taking up this movement, I have quit my job to be able to dedicate 100% of my efforts to social justice with the long term goal to establish a non-profit, The Reformers Movement, that will serve lower-income communities and push for reforms in communities experiencing systematic racism.
Due to the amount of texts, calls, and overwhelming offers of generosity, I have set up this account up to receive donations for the cause and to help keep up with my bills and living because I am 100 percent committed to this important cause; I am currently living off of my savings. All proceeds will go towards fighting for policy change, social justice and to help me with financial stability while fighting for this cause.
