Quand j’étais en Ouganda, j’ai remporté un concours de mannequins, mais on m’a dit que je ne réussirais jamais dans l’industrie parce que je n’étais pas ougandais. Je n'ai pas pu poursuivre ma passion jusqu'à mon arrivée au Canada il y a un peu plus de deux ans. Je veux montrer aux autres immigrants, même si vous avez peut-être tout perdu dans la vie, puisque vous êtes en vie, cela signifie qu'il y a de l'espoir aussi de montrer aux autres nouveaux arrivants qu'ils peuvent réaliser leurs rêves. Même si vous êtes un immigrant, au Canada, vous pouvez toujours avoir la même valeur et vous pouvez être ce que vous voulez. Être immigrant ne peut pas vous arrêter. Je recueille cet argent pour m'aider à payer le reste des frais d'entrée, des billets d'avion pour aller à Toronto et des accessoires. Tout montant me sera très utile. Merci beaucoup pour votre soutien. English Laeticia Mwayuma, who is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo has always been interested in modelling. While living as an immigrant in Uganda, I won a modelling competition, but I was told that I would never succeed in the industry because I wasn’t Ugandan. I wasn’t able to pursue my passion until I came to Canada just over two years ago. I want to show other immigrants, even though you may have lost everything in life, since you’re alive, it means there is hope, and to show other newcomers they can achieve their dreams. Even though you are an immigrant, in Canada you can still have the same value and you can be what you want. Being an immigrant cannot stop you.
