20th Anniversary Gulf War Illness Wheelchair Ride

Donation protected
Your participation is requested for Kevin Richard Shores “NeSe” as he again embarks across the state of Minnesota, riding 270 miles from Moorhead to the state capitol in St. Paul.

On Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 9:00 AM CST Kevin will initiate this journey from the “Veteran’s Bridge” at the boarder of MN and ND located on Main Avenue.

In 2000, Kevin first announced a ride in his wheelchair to raise awareness about Gulf War Illness/Syndrome, which he is adamant that he is living with. The original ride along Highway 10 from City Hall in Moorhead to the State Capital was intended to take place in May, but Kevin was involved in a terrible accident that left him hospitalized and needing rehabilitation for several months. Undaunted, he embarked on this ride only several days after leaving rehabilitation, traveling in his wheelchair for eleven days to bring attention to the cause.

Kevin, after serving his country, is still being giving the runaround by the U.S. Government. He has still not been given adequate answers or solutions to the challenges regarding his health and the health of thousands of other veterans. Now he is demanding accountability of the Veterans Administration to fulfill its obligation of adequate compensation and healthcare. Kevin, through experience and research, believes that utilizing Cannabis eliminates the need for dangerous and addictive narcotic painkillers like Oxycontin. Since the Veterans Administration has now denied him synthetic cannabis or pain medications, Kevin believes from his experiences that Cannabis would provide him with a better quality of life, especially with pain relief and management.

Kevin believes, as a Native American, that all plants should be utilized for their full potential. With over 100,000 byproducts possible from the cultivation of cannabis, veterans and all Americans should be allowed to utilize this incredible plant for their health maintenance & basic needs. For these reasons, Kevin will commemorate the 20th Anniversary of his first ride on September 9th, by wheeling across Minnesota. He doesn’t expect the trip to take as long this time because his wheelchair is much faster, although now that he is blind, there is a new element of adventure! Kevin is again demanding answers to the challenges that veterans face when they come home. He wants to highlight the challenges for adequate medical care and support.

Kevin is seeking your support physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. If you feel that you can assist with this endeavor in saving our future, please contact Kevin through the following channels:
