A Live-Fire, Queens-Style BBQ Pop-Up Rooted in Food, Community, and Cause

Tikkun BBQ’s Community Cookout Series is built on a simple idea:

feed people in the streets, bring them together, and rally around something bigger than ourselves.

Each summer, we host large-scale block parties in Astoria—serving 100% free BBQ to thousands of neighbors and residents across NYC, creating space for real connection, and distributing life-saving resources like Narcan—all at no cost to the public.

These events only happen because of the generosity of people like you.

Why We’re Fundraising

For Summer 2026, we’re raising funds to bring the series back—bigger and better. Originally taking place one a year on one city block, the series will now take place three times this year, on two city blocks.

We’re asking you, your friends, and your community to contribute $10 or more to help us:

• Feed hundreds of people at each event, for free
• Create welcoming, inclusive community spaces
• Provide free access to harm-reduction resources
• Support free programming, music, activities and more that brings people together - everyone from kids, to young people, to parents, grandparents and more

2026 Community Cookout Dates & Location

• Saturday, June 20
• Saturday, July 18
• Saturday, August 22

All events take place at 31st Ave Open Street

• (31st Ave between 33rd & 35th St, Astoria)

What to Expect

Each event features:

• Live-fire, Queens-Style BBQ (100% free, while supplies last)
• Free movie screenings
• Community activities like art projects, cooking demos and programming
• Music

We’re committed to making these events accessible to all, with kosher/halal and vegan options available at every cookout as well.
