Hi! My name is Alexandria Criner. I'm a first-year student at the University of Georgia, majoring in Political Science.
As an aspiring politician, I hope to one day run for public office in the state of Georgia, and because of this, I recognize the importance of democracy. The foundation of democracy is our right to vote, and we cannot call ourselves a true democracy until everyone's voice is represented on election day. Furthermore, this organization represents the Omega Psi Phi mandated initiative of voter registration, education, and mobilization. That is why I picked the Georgia League of Women Voters as my foundation of choice.
The the GA league of Women Voters is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization that strives to increase civic participation amongst Georgia women, a historically disenfranchised group. They also focus on other marginalized communities including Black, Latino, Asian, young, and rural Georgians. They work towards their vision of a Georgia where everyone can equitably participate in the democratic process by hosting voter registration campaigns, holding events to encourage voting, and advocating for legislation that makes voting more available for everyone.
Your support will help to break down system barriers, create more opportunities for underserved communities, and empower individuals to achieve their dreams. Thank you so much for supporting the Georgia League of Women Voters and my journey as a Beta Zeta Chapter Miss Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant contestant. Together, we can support meaningful changes, and I thank you so much for your support!
