Hello there! Welcome to FLARE's 2026 GoFundMe to pay contributors in 2026 or 2027 and beyond!
I'm Kelly, and I'm the editor-in-chief for FLARE Magazine, a literary magazine dedicated to showcasing the harsh realities, the triumphs, and everything in between that comes with chronic illnesses, disabilities, and mental health. We publish stories, essays, poems, art, and more, showcased by writers and artists who experience this for themselves. FLARE Magazine is also for readers, family, and friends who know someone with a chronic illness and/or a disability, so they can learn more about this in order to understand their peers better. FLARE hopes to create an inclusive, uplifting community.
"Be the change you wish to see in the world," Mahatma Gandhi once said, and EIC Kelly strives to make a difference in this world for the better.
FLARE's goal for this GoFundMe is solely to pay contributors for their work. Oftentimes, writers go unpaid for the work they write, especially in literary magazines and for disabled creators, and EIC Kelly wants to change this!
Here at FLARE, we believe in small changes to make a difference. By donating, we hope to host future writing contests and eventually pay all contributors!

To help with our financial efforts, we also have a Redbubble store that functions the same as this GoFundMe--all proceeds pay creators! Our Redbubble store sells merch about the chronic illness/disability/mental health experience and designs were created by a disabled creative!
If you are unable to donate, sharing this would be much appreciated!
Thanks for reading, sharing, and donating!

P.S. If you feel like supporting me, your EIC, I have a Ko-Fi (I am a volunteer for this lit mag) and a poetry chapbook out about what it's like to live with a chronic illness, aka lupus in particular.
