Sydney Marathon ‘25 - SJC Dubbo supports St Vincent de Paul
Donation protected
Hello all
I'm Richard Eggleston, a proud Dubbo resident and passionate long distance runner.
I am a teacher of St Johns College (Dubbo) and I am looking to help our Year 12 cohort with their fundraising efforts this term. Their nominated charity is St Vincent De Paul's, a well known charity that focuses on reaching out to the most vulnerable in our community, including people living in or at risk of poverty, and people who are disadvantaged or marginalised. This includes those affected by homelessness, natural disasters, substance abuse and domestic violence.
This year the Sydney Marathon has been ordained with 'World Major' status, meaning it is up there with the likes of Boston, New York, Berlin, Chicago, London and Tokyo as a major global sporting event. The vehicle for this fundraising campaign will be my attempt at the Sydney Marathon, to be held Sunday 31st August. Upon completion, this will be my 9th marathon overall, and my first (and probably only ever) World Major (due to difficulty in entering such events).
You can make a donation in one of two ways
- A one off donation/pledge and/or
A pledge for a certain amount of money for every minute (or part thereof) under 4:30:09s (my last Marathon time at Canberra in April this year) I achieve, to be paid after the event. View the pledge form here - PLEDGE FORM
For the latter, in the interest of transparency, recent performances of a 1:55:45 Half Marathon (21k) at Goulburn in May 2025 and a 24:51 Parkrun (5k) point towards a 4:05-4:20 result.
Collected monies will be donated to the St Johns College (Dubbo) Year 12 2025 Fundraising account once all the money is in, ideally within 48-72 hours of the event occurring.
