Dear All,

Thank you for taking the time to consider this cause.

As many will know, The Warehouse Cup is an annual hockey tournament held on the Walsh Farm in Watervale, PE. For more than 20 years, approximately 40 friends and neighbours have gathered in the depths of winter to connect and compete in support of each other and deserving community causes.

In 2024, efforts are being directed toward maintaining the legacy of Shaul Gyori.

Shaul and another dearly missed friend, Jay Bowtle, passed in a tragic accident in 2002. They were just 17 and 16 years old, respectively.

With the blessing of the Gyori Family, we are hoping to raise enough money to see a memorial headstone set at Shaul’s final resting place at Our Lady of Assumption Parish Church in Stratford this spring.

Should fundraising exceed the cost of this goal, additional proceeds will be directed to providing scholarships in Shaul’s name for deserving youth to attend MOZZI TOTAL 10 FOOTBALL camps, which are run by Shaul’s brother, Mozzi.

The event will take place beginning at Noon on Saturday, February 24, 2024. The championship game is usually played around 5:00pm and is followed by awards presentations, prize draws and the conclusion of a silent auction.

Player rosters are still being finalized, but already many friends of both Shaul and Jay are confirmed to participate. Even if some are beyond their ‘best before’ dates where hockey is concerned, a lot of spirit remains.

All are invited to attend to enjoy hot chocolate, chili, and each others’ company.

If any local businesses or individuals are willing to provide prizes for the draws or silent auction they would be greatly appreciated. Please email here to make arrangements.

Thank you again for considering this cause and we look forward to seeing as many familiar faces as possible on game day.

James, Steve & John Walsh
