2024 CHIEF Summer Jeep Jam & Poker Run
This 4th annual event is benefiting brain cancer awareness/research, and all proceeds are being donated to the Glioblastoma Foundation in honor of my dad (Richard Browne) & brother-in-law (Scott Rodemich) who both lost their battle to brain cancer. This fund has been set up for those individuals who are unable to attend the event but would still like to donate to this fantastic cause.
Individuals can make donations to this fund until a week after the day of the event.
The 2024 Chief Summer Jeep Jam & Poker Run is scheduled for all day on August 10, 2024, with many activities including: Jeep Poker Run, attendance prizes, silent auction, 50/50+, food/drinks & live music. The inaugural year of 2021 was a huge success & continues to grow bigger each year. To date we have raised $43,000 & donated to the Glioblastoma Foundation...we're hoping to make this year's event even bigger.
Glioblastoma (also known as Glioblastoma multiforme or GBM) is the most aggressive type of tumor that arises in the brain. It is one of the most lethal forms of brain cancer. The current standard of care (consisting of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy) is ineffective, and the median survival of a person diagnosed with glioblastoma is about 15 months; without treatment, it is a paltry 3-6 months.
The purpose of the Glioblastoma Foundation is to transform the standard of care for glioblastoma by supporting the development of drug therapies for glioblastoma. Researchers have found that each glioblastoma is different, and as such, a targeted approach to therapy may be necessary. Glioblastoma Foundation focuses on supporting the development of targeted therapies, those based on the molecular features of each tumor. The Glioblastoma Foundation's mission is to modify the current standard of care for glioblastoma by replacing radiation and chemotherapy with targeted small molecule therapies that prolong survival and increase the quality of life.
