2023 Warrane Vanuatu Workcamp

In April 2020, Cyclone Harold wreaked havoc on the small archipelago of Vanuatu, wiping out homes and claiming lives. On the island of Espiritu Santo, 90 per cent of homes in Luganville were destroyed and 5,000 people were made homeless on the island.

In the small community of San Michel, where classrooms had been built in previous workcamps, the school and other buildings were lashed and battered. Now that the Covid pandemic is past and we can travel, Warrane is aiming to bring much-needed relief to the small community.

In August - September, 20 residents of Warrane will travel to Espiritu Santo and rebuild classrooms for San Michel. Each participant will pay for his own airfares and upkeep on the trip, and we are aiming to fundraise up to $20,000 for the project.
