Andrew Mallett's 2023 NYC Marathon - Force Blue

On November 5th, I will be running the NYC marathon via the NYRR 9 + 1 qualification program. Even though I am not required to raise money in order to run the race, I still wanted to use the marathon as a platform to raise money and awareness to benefit Force Blue, Inc.

Force Blue is an important non-for-profit that unites the community of Special Operations veterans with the world of marine science and conservation in one mission-focused program for the benefit of both communities. I was fortunate enough to get connected to Force Blue through my cousin, Jeff Gum, as well as attending an annual charity event for the nonprofit this past year.

Force Blue not only provides a positive impact on our environment through conservation and restoration of marine life, but it also provides “mission therapy” for former combat divers — individuals whom governments around the world have invested millions to create the best possible underwater and maritime divers — by retraining, retooling and deploying them on conservation missions. I ask that you please consider donating to support this cause that means a lot to not only myself, but our environment, and our Special Operations veterans.

As part of my fundraising effort, I will also be letting those who donate 20 dollars or more add a song of their choice to my running playlist for the marathon. Those who donate can either leave a message attached to their donation with their song choice or reach out to me personally.
