2022 Fundraiser for the Sugarloaf Fire Department in Boulder County
Hello Neighbors and Friends,
As our community begins to navigate life after the pandemic, we are faced with the challenge of raising much-needed funding for our fire department.
This year, we are happy to announce that the Annual Sugarloaf Garage Sale will take place on May 27, 28 and 29 at Station 2. In addition to the Garage Sale, we will also be conducting a GoFundMe campaign as we have done for the past two years through the pandemic.
We hope to raise enough funds through both events to help us purchase much needed fire gear for our firefighters, to maintain our fleet of trucks and apparatus, and to continue to offer year-round training for our cadre of volunteers.
This past year was challenging for all of us. The combination of the pandemic and an active fire season kept our all-volunteer fire department on its toes. We continue this year to work extra hard to respond to calls during the COVID-19 pandemic and we have also responded to multiple wildland fires in the form of providing mutual aid for the Marshall Fire, both NCAR fires, as well as unattended campfires and trees on powerlines we keep discovering in our own district. Whenever our community calls for volunteers, our members show up. Whether it’s a fire, a medical emergency, a car accident, an unattended campfire, or a lift assist, they are always first on the scene.
This year we are gearing up for what could be another challenging fire season. Thankfully, our team is trained and ready to serve. And we have welcomed a new class of trainees, bringing our membership to 55, the highest number in many years.
The 2022 Sugarloaf GoFundMe Campaign will help our volunteers continue to serve the Sugarloaf community.
Your support is more important than ever. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift to the Sugarloaf Fire Department. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by July 4th through the Sugarloaf GoFundMe campaign. These funds will help maintain our fleet of fire trucks and equipment, provide firefighters with crucial gear for personal protection, and fund the continued training of new firefighters.
