2022 CHRISTMAS ANGELS CHILDRENS HOLIDAY EVENT

Donation protected
  • Let me introduce myself; I am Bishop Donna Hubbard, Founder and Executive Director of Woman At The Well Transition Center. I am also a formerly incarcerated mother of 8 children and a human trafficking survivor. In 2022 we mark our 19th year celebrating these families and hosting this event for children of incarcerated mothers and families impacted by human trafficking and the criminal justice system. Each year we are amazed at how many families are affected and how willing our Georgia communities are to assist these children and families during the holiday season. This year's theme is "It Takes A Village: The African American Holiday Experience." Our goal is to make this an experience, not simply an event. The African American perspective is a unique and creative adaptation. It is the story of survival and appreciation for everyone at the "table." There was always room for one more. It was painful to watch families impacted by incarceration endure the pandemic and face the mother's absence. Our goal this year is to ensure the children feel part of something bigger than their circumstances: they need to feel connected. Donated funds will help the costs for the African drummers, dancers and Storytellers. There will be braiding and beading for girls' hair and drum-making for the boys. We have a Caregiver Lounge so they can take a break and breathe, and even Father Kwaanza. We are offering a taste of African cuisine and American Soul food. Your donations make a difference, and we ask that you donate generously and sincerely. No donation is too small; they all add to the priceless smiles on the children's faces and the sigh of relief from anxious grandparents and struggling mothers. Included in the gifts this year are items from local artists who have donated and resource providers who will have vendor tables on site. Any funds left over will jump-start our 2023 Back to Learning Tutoring program. Your donations are tax-deductible and will help with the expenses to make this a once-in-a-lifetime experience. In partnership with the Villages at Carver YMCA, Woman At The Well Transition Center and Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport become "The Village" for these children and families. Won't you join us in this holiday journey? Thank you in advance, and may God Bless you and your family in this holiday season. Enjoy the video from 2021, and remember: "It Takes A Village."
