2021 Kappa Sigma Sleepout for Soldiers
Due to Covid-19, we were not able to do Sleepout for the Soldiers. Instead, on April 18th, we are doing the 4x4x48 challenge created by the Navy Seal, David Goggins. Every 4 hours, for 48 hours, a brother from each team will run 4 miles.
For the 12th year, on February 27th, 2021, the brothers of Kappa Sigma (UVM’s Alpha Lambda chapter) will be continuing their great tradition in support of military heroes. The event starts at the beginning of the year when the brothers of Kappa Sigma start to collect donations. The Sleep Out event culminates with the brothers of the chapter, along with other Kappa Sigma chapters from the area, coming together to sleep outside for 27 hours while raising money for the Seal Legacy Foundation, per the Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign.
The Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign honors and aids thousands of military veterans and their families in communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception in 2007, the campaign has donated over $1,000,000 to non-profit organizations that advocate on behalf of servicemen and women and those wounded in combat.
More information about SEAL Legacy Foundation: The SEAL Legacy Foundation was founded by SEALs and is run by SEALs to preserve the Brotherhood's legacy of No One Left Behind. The Foundation is a 501(C)(3), nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support to families of wounded and fallen United States Navy SEALs, educational assistance for SEALs and their families, and other charitable causes benefiting the SEAL community.
