2021 Fundraiser for the Sugarloaf Fire Department in Boulder County
Hello Neighbors and Friends,
As our community begins to navigate life after the pandemic, we are faced with the challenge of raising much-needed funding for our fire department.
The Sugarloaf Garage Sale, which raises up to $35,000 annually for our department, was postponed again this year and we look forward to 2022 as the return date for this much-loved community event.
This past year was challenging for all of us. The combination of the pandemic and an active fire season kept our all-volunteer fire department on its toes. We worked extra hard to adapt to COVID-19 as we responded to our typical calls for service, as well as multiple large wildland events, such as the Cameron Peak, East Troublesome, Left Hand, and Cal-Wood Fires. Whenever our community called for volunteers, we were there. Whether it was a fire, a medical emergency, a vehicle accident, a bike crash, an unattended campfire, or a citizen assist, we were always first on scene.
This year we are gearing up for what could be another challenging fire season. Thankfully, our team is trained and ready to serve. And we have welcomed a new class of trainees, bringing our membership to 55, the highest number in many years.
The 2021 Sugarloaf GoFundMe Campaign will help our volunteers continue to serve the Sugarloaf community.
Your support is more important than ever. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift to the Sugarloaf Fire Department. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by July 4th. These funds will help maintain our fleet of fire trucks and equipment, provide firefighters with crucial gear for personal protection, and fund the continued training of new firefighters.
