2018 Horry County Disaster Relief

33284940_1538167453949431_r.jpegThe devastation and destruction of Hurricane Florence is real for those throughout the Carolinas. Homes, condos and entire neighborhoods in Horry County and Marion County and beyond are facing a long road to recovery.

A local news channel reported that nearly 2000 homes could be affected by floods or other damage. There are many people living in hotels, shelters and sleeping on floors of family and friends. The needs of those will will range from food, cleaning supplies, repairs, new water heaters and HVAC systems, insulation, drywall, carpet, diapers and everything else you can imagine.

This GoFundMe campaign was formed to provide support and relief to those impacted by the storm.

Who We Are:
My name is Greg Harrelson with Century 21 The Harrelson Group in Myrtle Beach, SC.  I am the owner of multiple real estate offices in the area. Our North Myrtle Beach location is Century 21 Barefoot Realty and Conway location if Century 21 McAlpine and Associates. Unfortunately, we know of many any need in all of these areas.

As real estate professionals, we are on the ground level and have access and knowledge of the people and neighborhoods in desperate need. Just the other day, we delivered 750 roles of toilet paper to a shelter that is going through 100 roles per day. This is just an example of the assistance we are looking to give.

How Will Funds Be Used:

All monies will be used for support efforts.  We strongly believe in our mission to serve and contribute to our neighbors in need and all funds raised will go to support the victims affected by this storm.

Some immediate needs are food and cleaning supplies and building. The concern for mold growing in the homes within days of the water receding is high. There will be so many people needing bleach, mops and other supplies to help prevent mold growth in their homes. They will need helping hands to help them rip up carpet and then they will need carpet for their floors when that is done. Monies will go towards food for families that are displaced. Canned food goods and other non perishable items will be purchased in bulk to help the victims. Diapers and wipes are needed in high volume. It is overwhelming to see how much of these supplies are needed on a daily basis. Water Vacs and fans will be purchased to assist in extracting water and drying these homes as fast as possible. HVAC units, Water Heaters, Insulation and other building supplies will be purchased as needed to help those that cannot afford these themselves. We are on a mission to help as many people before winter so they are secure before the cold months set in.

Our Promise:
Not one dollar will go into the pocket of a business or person that is assisting with this project. All monies will be used for helping victims and all time will be volunteered.

Here are some recent photos of the devastation in the area-your support is greatly appreciated.
