2015 Living the Dream--helping a Family with Rent
Donation protected
On the class happy hour several weeks ago, we talked a little about the need in Arlington and whether we can get a little class competition going to help.
The beneficiary of your rent assistance effort is a family of five. The father was laid off on March 20th, just as the country was shutting down in response to the initial COVID-19 outbreak. Recently, he has been getting work as it’s available but not nearly enough hours to cover rent. The mother cares for their three children, all under the age of 7. The oldest is an Abingdon student with special needs.
(The picture is not the family, but is a photograph to give you a picture of what we are doing taken from Arlington's Housing Choice Voucher program.)
We would need would be $3300 to cover three months for this family. We have been able to come up with over $1,000 toward this effort.
Will you help?
