I’ve decided to walk the Wainwright Coast to Coast — around 200 miles from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay — solo, navigating and carrying all my own camping gear.

Because apparently walking 200 miles wasn’t difficult enough… I thought I’d take my bed, kitchen, wardrobe and probably half my house with me.

I’m taking on this challenge to raise money for The Partington Theatre, a place that has become a very special part of my life.

I’m an amateur actor and also help out Front of House, so I’ve been lucky enough to experience the theatre from both sides of the curtain. It’s a place full of creativity, laughter, friendship and community — and somewhere I’m incredibly proud to be part of.

But like many much-loved old buildings, The Partington Theatre needs some important work to keep it going — including essential building work and repairs to the roof.

So while I’m out walking over mountains, through valleys and across what will undoubtedly feel like several hundred miles of bogs, I’m hoping to raise some much-needed funds to help protect a place that means so much to so many people.

More information about Partington Theatre Club Limited: Partington Theatre Club Limited operates a community theatre in Glossop by presenting 6 drama plays per year including a Pantomime. We have a Youth Group section who also perform plays. The club is open to all public and to advance the education of the public in the arts in particular.
