Hello! My name is Hannah Stevens and I’ve decided this year that I would love to raise some money for a great cause and, on behalf of my Dad - Barry, who most of you reading this will know very well. A total icon, the funniest, kindest man around. He would do anything for anyone.
Sadly, my Dad suffered a stroke back in November 2024. It was a horrible, extremely sudden and scary time for us all, especially my Dad.
However, it was truly made better by the wonderful stroke services that were made available to him. The people, the services and the work they do was outstanding.
So, I would love to fundraise for some stroke charities/services to give a little something back, although, nothing will ever compare to what they gave to my Dad.
They gave their time, energy, efforts, kindness and most importantly, they gave him a lot of hope when he needed it most.
I believe everything they did got him to where he is today. We’re so proud of him for how he’s dealt with his recovery - still cracking jokes and still the one making life seem brighter.
We are so eternally grateful to everyone who was involved for their support and I know that they will have done the same thing for hundreds of families across Hertfordshire and all over the UK.
It’s only until you’re affected by an event which requires their services that you realise just how amazing they are and the lengths they go to.
If anyone would ever happen to find themselves in this situation, it’s just amazing that there’s people like this out there ready to help you get through it.
I’ll be walking 200 miles in the month of March, sometimes alone, sometimes joined by family and friends who love and care for my Dad too - and of course, my Dad himself!
Every mile I do will be tracked and uploaded onto a social media page. Any donation you can give would mean the whole world.
I am so lucky to have my Dad and I can’t wait to walk a few miles with him to give back to the people who got him through it.
Thank you!
