Hey all, as you all probably know (I've certainly beat you over the head with it) I'm an immigration lawyer. Last year, I went to Dilley, Texas to work with women and children at a "baby jail." We call them this because there are literally children and babies housed at the jail. 

With everything going on in this country, it seems such a waste to stay home and comfortable while I have the skills to make a difference for so many. 

So I've picked two weeks between my contractual obligations and private firm work to go back to Dilley, newly energized and with more skills than when I first went. My goal, as always, is to help every person I meet to stay in this country. This is one of the most difficult, but efficient, ways to do that.

If you can donate, do. If not, that's fine but please share! This money is only for the trip itself. I've budgeted $1300 for the flight and rental car for two weeks, and an additional $700 for the hotel, as there are cheap weekly hotels in Dilley.  I'll be paying for my own food and bills back home. 

If you've ever felt powerless to help with what's happening in this country, this is an opportunity to donate directly. You can trust that any donations will go to fund this work, and if I somehow surpass my goal, I will use the money to help all the more. There is an endless slew of other volunteers, families without bond money, etc. that need this money as well. I promise anything I don't need will make it to them.
