My name is Floramie, a Filipina student visa holder living in Australia since 2023. When I started working in 2019, I have been quietly giving back to my community in Kinablangan, Baganga, Davao Oriental in the simplest ways I can - using only what I am able to afford.

Each year, whenever possible, I prepare small donations such as food packs, school supplies, and second-hand clothes for a few children back home. These are never big efforts, just small acts of love — but they come from the belief that giving back, no matter how little, still matters.

My community in Kinablangan is a place where help and donations rarely reach, especially during times of disaster.

On October 10, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental, leaving many families displaced and many children losing their homes. This came on top of the constant typhoons our province continues to face, making recovery even more difficult for families who already have very little.

While I cannot change what these children have been through, I believe that even the smallest acts of kindness can remind them that they are seen, remembered, and cared for — especially during Christmas.

I have already personally prepared 60 loot bags, each containing:

1. A colouring book

2. Crayons

3. Simple Snacks

These may be small items, but for a child, they can mean a moment of happiness, creativity, and comfort.

As I prepared these, I realised there are many more children I could reach. With your support, I am hoping to prepare 100–120 loot bags in total.

Each loot bag costs around $2 AUD and this amount will truly help cover the materials and allow me to reach more children.
