What we’ve all come to see in recent weeks is how COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on our country, but especially low-income areas across the nation—Easton is unfortunately no exception.
 
Many households in our community already struggle to put food on the table, but the increase in job insecurity has worsened the problem. On top of that, these families often have children who can no longer rely on school lunch programs to get through the day. As this crisis continues, the demand for food only grows; at Paxinosa Elementary alone, grab-and-go meals are being distributed to 900 kids a day.
 
As upsetting as this situation is, we are not hopeless to fix it—what Easton knows best is how to come together as a community. That being said, we are a group of high school seniors teaming up with the Easton Area School District, Whitsons Food Service, and Family Connection to help families afford groceries during this time. Our goal is to, with your help, ensure that everyone in the community can have reliable access to food.

All donations to this campaign will go towards purchasing $50 gift cards from grocery stores in the area (Giant, Walmart, Aldi, etc.). These will be handed off to Whitsons and Family Connection, who will distribute them to a list of families most impacted by the pandemic.

It is important for the City of Easton to come together and support our neighbors in need. In times like these, no one deserves to go hungry. Whatever you can offer is deeply appreciated and will be going towards an incredible cause. Thank you!
