COVID-19-Cape Cod

My name is Bowman Rhinesmith. I am raising money for families on Cape Cod whose parents cannot work due to the COVID-19 virus. I used to live in Chatham but moved to Duxbury MA when I was 8. Chatham Elementary is located within the federal poverty zone where 50% live below the poverty level. The number of students who receive free or reduced cost meals at Chatham Elementary has grown to the point where the school meets the qualifications for a federally funded anti-poverty program that provides free breakfast and lunch to all students. With school being out for the rest of the year many these kids cannot be fed, similar to a lot of the elementary schools on the Cape. A lot these kids parents work in restaurants or the service industry so they are also out of work. The COVID-19 has a devastating impact on Cape families. I am making this GoFundMe to help families in Chatham and around the entire Cape. My dad owns Pine Acres Realty in Chatham. He’s in Chatham every day and even some days during this pandemic. He sees it first hand considering he has friends who are out of work. My dad knows of many organizations that raise money for cape families in need and he is even founder of one which he started with my grandmother that raises money specifically for Chatham families.
