Fundraising for Local Charities in Cabo Verde

This campaign is focused on giving back to the country that first served as the springboard to become who we are today.

Growing up in Cape Verde gave us the blessing of creating and sharing unforgettable memories. Memories that today keep us very connected to one another, even though residing in different countries abroad. Today, we have the opportunity to give back to our mother land that first provided to us.

While our beloved islands are grappling to meet the needs of its citizens, the economy of the country continues to plummet in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many whose earnings were dependent on the operation of an open market, are now burdened with the uncertainty of how and/or when the next meal will come.

Concerned with the state of our Home country, a group of us composed by Cape Verde Vacation & Services, Charlotte Seed and Little Crowns, decided to join forces in raising relief funds to aid our comrades back home. We are friends, sons & daughters of the soil with a hope to simply bring them some peace of mind during these trying times.  

For this campaign to be as effective as possible, we intend on working with at least 8 different nonprofit/charity institutions in Cabo Verde, Tenda do El-Shaddai, Safende Tudo Hora... Those organizations, which not only know the people, but are also empathize with the current needs, as they have also been affected by the pandemic. These foundations will be tasked with the purchasing and distributing groceries to families in multiple islands. Our goal is to provide a symbolic grocery bag in the mount of 5.000$00ECV to the most needed families, to last approximately 1 month. We are aiming to help at least 300 families.

Cape Verde is dear to our hearts, therefore the desire to help is instinctive. These efforts however, will not be possible without your participation. Our target is to raise at least $16,000.00 to be distributed throughout the country. We understand that these are challenging times for many. Enquanto Cabo Verde luta para atender às necessidades de
seus cidadãos, a economia do país vem-se despencando
perante a pandemia do COVID-19. Muitos cujos rendimentos
dependiam de um mercado aberto e seguro, encontram-se
sobrecarregados com a incerteza e o medo de não conseguir
arcar com as suas responsabilidades quer a nível pessoal,
assim como a nível profissional.
 
Preocupados com o estado da nossa terra amada e perante a
oportunidade de devolver algo à nossa primeira casa, nós,

decidimos unir forças e desenvolver esta campanha por forma a
angariar fundos e ajudar os nossos compatriotas.

A nossa esperança é poder ajudar a nossa terra amada, que
nos serviu de alicerce para nos tornarmos quem somos hoje e
trazer um pouco de paz de espírito ao país, durante esses
tempos difíceis.
 
Assim, o principal foco deste projeto será trabalhar com
algumas fundações locais, que encarregar-se-ão da compra e da
doação dos mantimentos no valor de 5,000$00 para cada família a ser
beneficiada. As referidas instituições, juntamente com sua
familiaridade para com o povo cabo-verdiano, simpatizam-se e
sensibilizam-se com causa nobre.

Adicionalmente, pretende-se arrecadar $15.000,00 a serem
divididos por diversas instituições. Entendemos que são tempos
desafiadores para muitos, mas o seu apoio com pelo menos $1/1euro/1ESCV
à nossa campanha GoFundMe, poderá ajudar inúmeras
instituições cabo-verdianas e consequentemente aliviar,
minimamente, os danos evidenciados na nossa economia.
