My name is Marcel McCants January 2017, I was shot and paralyzed by someone I called a best friend and brother.
September 2019 Freedom Church of Seattle promoted me to the Executive Director of Youth Violence Prevention Network (Y.V.P.N), which shows love, nonviolence, and forgiveness to everyone. I work with a great team who are highly motivated to stopping gun violence in our community. I love using my journey to inspire others to keep fighting and keep pushing no matter what happens to you in life.
We have had great opportunities speaking at schools, churches, special events, youth ministries and Wa. State capital Olympia sharing my story of love, nonviolence and forgiveness for everyone. YVPN partners with other organizations such as Moms Demand Actions, Everytown Survivors Network, Community Pathways, 100MANARMY, Choose 180 and local high schools to come together to stop gun violence. We are planning to work together with elementary schools, community centers juvenile detention centers. We are currently looking for funding to hire teen and young adult staff, purchase laptops, video and photography equipment. We also want to help youth find resources for counseling, mentors, job and internship opportunities.
Thank you so much for your love, donation and support of Youth Violence Prevention Network!!
