In 2005, after years of independently promoting for the Pacific Northwest punk and metal scenes, Mike Thrasher finally accomplished his dream of offering aspiring acts (local and international alike) an intimate venue where both fans and artists could feel at home - The Hawthorne Theatre.
Thanks to the devotion of our friends, far and wide, Hawthorne Theatre and Mike Thrasher Presents have become synonymous with the city of Portland, Oregon and beyond.
Since those first days, we have taken pride in offering our community a safe, accommodating, and dependable space for the masses to come together.
Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic of COVID-19 and subsequent government-mandated attendance restrictions, we were forced to close our doors on March 11, 2020.
Our staff is now faced with the hardships of being part of one of the first industries to be affected, and presumably one of the last to be back to work, as we expect large-scale public gatherings to continue to be on hold until the government feels confident in the resolution of this crisis.
We know this is a difficult time both mentally and financially for the entire world and wish the best for everyone. That said, we are humbly asking for any donations you might be able to make to assist our venue staff through the brunt of this. We have been fortunate to serve you over the years and are grateful that you have continued joining us for so many unforgettable events; we can’t wait to see you again soon!
In advance, thank you to our loyal supporters for any contributions you can make.
And in retrospect, thank you, Mike, for everything you built for our community.
