Assalamualaikum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatuhu. May Allah bless you all. بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اﷲِالرَّحْمَنِ اارَّحِيم Dear brothers and sisters, Our beloved brother, Sulaiman (Joel Pelletier) passed away on the morning of 3/11/2020 after making wudu in preparation to pray Salatul Fajr. Sulaiman was a revert who accepted Islam in 2014. Islam truly transformed his life in so many ways. So much so, that his mother stated after his death that she didn’t think he would have become the man he became, had it not been for Islam! He was a devout Muslim who was steadfast upon the religion, and would study Islam and attend lessons as much as he possibly could, while working hard to take care of his family. Sulaiman was a loving husband to his wife and a caring father to his 10 year old daughter and 18 month old son. Additionally, his wife is expecting a baby very soon. As you all know, there are many expenses that come with raising children, as well as normal living expenses, which is why we would like to begin collecting donations to assist his family, especially with their newborn on the way. Any donation for Wa alaikum salaam wa rahmatullah. Ok inshaaAllah. Juweiriya Hassan (wife of Sulaiman) is greatly appreciated. Whether you are able to donate or not, please keep his family in your dua. Sulaiman was a kind man who would always strive to help others. He was a good son to his parents, a great husband, excellent father and an amazing friend. May Allah forgive all of his sins and accept all of his good deeds, and grant him Jannatul Firdous. May Allah grant ease and sabr to his wife and children. Ameen.

Sulaiman Abu Avaree has been in my life for only a few short years yet the effect of his death has really hit me and many of us that had the honor of knowing him really hard. He was 39 years old and married with two children and one more only weeks away from being born Insha'Allah. He has a wonderful wife and amazing extended family. His mother Marie Fischer did a amazing job of raising such a wonderful person. He changed his life completely without forgetting where he came from. The calmness and sincerity was obvious to all those who knew him well. My family were very fond of him as we all got to know him while he stayed at the P4E Center and then displayed his talents helping us transform our condo with his exceptional skills in carpentry and tiling. He spent a lot of time in my home and was a very trustworthy brother. As I am writing this it was supposed to be him and I in Ottawa helping us Reno our washrooms. Allah had different plans for him and instead yesterday I was washing his body and looking at him for the last time before we wrapped him in white cloth and prepared him for his burial. His face was radiant and full of color and it looked like he simply was sleeping but completely at peace. The same peace many of us dream about. He loved his family and parents, siblings and step father. Although not all members of his family were happy about his conversion we always talked about how it was important to be patient and not return insults with anger. His mother told me that she didn't beleive he would have become the man he became without Islam. I am not much of a writer in fact I am just a guy who also passing through this life and hoping that one day someone will remember me the same way that I remember my brother Sulaiman. Death is the awakener and our sincerity towards others will be all of our legacies Insha'Allah. Jezak Allah Khair for reading this. I needed to say something about my friend and brother in Islam. From Shahadah to the grave he transformed into an example for all new Muslims to follow. Never give up and try your best. He died while making wudu for fajr prayer. What an honorable way to leave this world. Love you bro and I promise to be part of your children's life Insha'Allah
