We Stand With 159

Donation protected
My name is Jason Prickett, a retired Police Officer and former co-worker of 159, Jared Beauchamp. Jared Beauchamp was a 21-year veteran of the Marshfield Police Department. I say “was” because he was terminated for what the Chief of Police terms a non-disciplinary reason. I will get to that later. Here is what I can tell you... for 21 years this man loved his wife, raised his sons, and protected the citizens of the City of Marshfield. He missed birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, weddings, school & sporting events and other events most take for granted. He was a mentor, he was an FTO (trained new Officers). Jared was one of the best SWAT negotiators the City had. Jared was also a Lead Officer (ran the shift if the shift commander was off). Jared was not only a firearms instructor, but a Glock Armorer (he was authorized to fix the Department’s rifles & handguns). Jared came to the city over 21 years ago and made Marshfield his home. After 20 years, the Chief of Police decided to implement a physical fitness test, and if you failed any component of it, you are suspended from active duty and are put on light duty. You are then given another shot and if you fail, you are terminated for non-disciplinary reasons...at the “Chief’s discretion” (so ultimately his decision, and his decision alone, to decide the fate of your career & life). This new “standard” is the same across the board whether you are 20 or 60 years old. Doesn’t matter if you had a prior on-duty injury, are fresh out of recruit school or are postpartum. Jared easily passed all physical components of the testing except for the run due to an existing work-related knee injury. He did finish the run, he didn’t quit, he just didn’t finish in time. So getting to the point, Jared fell short on the timed run (one component of the physical testing) and was terminated. 21 years of dedication to the Marshfield Police Department was ended due to a few ticks on a stopwatch. Jared and his family have incurred an incredible amount of legal debt trying to keep his job. With the loss of income, he and his family have to worry about utilities, buying groceries, gas, paying their mortgage, his son’s college coming up this fall. Thank God for the Wisconsin Professional Police Association (WPPA), who is now fighting for Jared and all Police Officers in the State of Wisconsin. I’m asking for all the citizens of the Marshfield community, and all current and former Police Officers to Stand with 159 as he has stood with the City of Marshfield for 21 years, and wanted nothing more than to continue to stand for them. Jared is a Warrior and needs our help. Please share this message of hope so we can help Jared, Amy, Braden and Dane. Any monies donated will be provided to the Beauchamps to help them during this stressful time.
