Hi Everyone! This is baby Jova Wood! My cousin Sasha’s one month old baby boy. On January 21st, as baby Jova was asleep in his crib, his mom, Sasha got an alert from his owlet monitor (a baby’s monitor that monitors the baby’s breathing while they sleep) that his heart rate had spiked to 300bpm! Due to her quick thinking, she called 911 and baby Jova was rushed to the nearest hosptial. Unfortunately the nearest hosptial didn’t have a pediatric unit and the nearest pediatric hosptial was about an hour and half drive away. Baby Jova had to be taken by helicopter to the nearest pediatric hospital. The even scarier part? My cousin Sasha, his mother, couldn’t ride in the helicopter with her new born son. She had to drive an hour and a half to meet them there. Her husband Rashad was out of town during this time to top it all off. Rashad is the sole provider for his family as my cousin Sasha is a stay at home mom. At the hosptial, Baby Jova was diagnosed with SVT. Supra-ventricular Tachycardia. In other words it is a super dangerous heart rhythm that often times can lead to sudden cardiac arrest which can lead to death. Thankfully baby Jova was okay, but he did experience this dangerous rhythm a few more times in the hospital, prompting an almost one month stay. Thankfully baby Jova is at home now with a heart monitor, but as you can imagine, the medical bills have been pilling up. My cousin is the sweetest and won’t ask for anything, but I know it’s a lot to handle right now. So as her cousin, I’ve decided to help her out and make a go fund me on her behalf (with her permission of course!) Any little bit counts you all! So please, if the Lord presses it on your heart to help, please do! You never know when the tables might turn and it’s you that will need help on the other end!
