My friend Glenn Martin from North Babylon has fallen onto hard times. He has been struggling with diabetes in the last couple of years and has lost a couple of toes, until currently he developed an infection in his left foot and they had to amputate half of his foot. I’m proud to call Glenn my friend because he is literally the guy who would take the shirt off his back, lending money to anyone who was in need. I met Glenn in 1987 cooking with him at the Babylon Clam & Oyster Bar for several years then he moved on to Pier 44 (same owners)restaurant by the Babylon docks. Now married with 2 young children he has been working security at Hofstra college and in the summer he parks cars for Fire Island at the Chowder Bar in Bay Shore, does catering jobs for people, and also moves furniture for anyone in need(Anything to provide for his family). He has been out of work for a few weeks now and will remain out for a few months during his rehabilitation. If anyone on this earth deserves help and support, it’s my friend Glenn! Pay it forward people!
