Recently a sub-committee of volunteers was formed to help raise funds for our local Scout Boat Shed.

The boat shed sits on the HMAS Penguin site at Balmoral Beach. At the beginning of the global pandemic, the RAN ordered us to stand down from the site until further notice.

During our absence, we were unable to perform the required maintenance and the boat shed fell into disrepair. In recent weeks the RAN has agreed to welcome us back and reinstate access but only if the boat shed is repaired and made safe. Something we all want.

BGIS Construction is the authorised supplier to the Department of Defence and the quote for repairs has been calculated at $70K. This includes repairs to the concrete beams, walls, boat ramp and a new waterproof membrane on the observation platform. These works are beyond our modest financial position.

We look forward to the day our children from 1st Mosman Cubs, Scouts and Venturers can gain access to this wonderful site with amazing experiences, however, to do this, we need your help.

We need help to raise $70K to get this project happening.
