Dogs are amazing animals.
It's an incredible thing to experience and know, with absolute certainty, how important raising a puppy can be for someone going through difficult times.
Not a day goes by where I don't think about it. I feel lucky every day.
Bulldozer has revolutionized my life, and altered the trajectory I'll take to get where I'm going. I'm so grateful for that. Taking care of my puppy, sharing that bond, raising him, training him, and watching him grow has been a great way for me to find some inner peace.
That's what K-9's For Warriors does. They pair veterans of war suffering from PTSD, TSI, or MST with a puppy, which then they help train into legit military service dogs. What a kick ass concept. They help their dog grow and learn, and in return their puppies do the same for them. It's a beautiful thing.

I have no experience with war - make no mistake about that - but I've fought my own mental battles just the same, and I believe in what this great non-profit is doing. I believe in the power of their process, and how important it can be for our fellow human beings out there who are struggling. Men and women who return from battle or other traumatic situation(s) and just want to get back on their feet; restore some sense of normalcy, purpose, and routine to their lives. That's something I can definitely relate to - as I'm sure many of us can. A puppy can provide that positive spark they need, and I'm committed to paying that gift forward.
