Hi, I'm Kyle Dunmire and I'm passionate about getting Veterans the help they deserve. K9s For Warriors does just that by pairing trained service dogs with veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and military sexual trauma. As a proud veteran myself, I understand the challenges many of us face in our journey to reintegrate into civilian life.

These remarkable canine companions provide not only emotional support but also practical assistance, helping to restore independence and confidence to those who have served our country. Today, we come together not just to raise funds, but to honor the sacrifices made by our veterans and to give back in a meaningful way.

In honor of Veterans who struggle with these difficult challenges I've started a tradition of walking as far as I can over a weekend up the White Pine Trail. The first year I did 50 miles and challenging myself to go further every year. With your help, I'd love to donate as much as possible to K9's for Warriors and be a small part in their efforts to pair a life buddy with those learning life after the military. Hello there! We are students from UNT who are looking to spread awareness and raise money for K9s for Warriors! This charity hits close to home for some of us who have veterans in the family. We want to continue to support our veterans as much as we can, especially since they gave us their all to fight for our freedom! Our veterans deserve it!

K9s for Warriors is a non-profit organization that raises money to provide our veterans with highly trained service dogs. There are approximately 20 veterans that commit suicide every day due to PTSD, Brain injuries, and other service traumatic experiences from their past. On the other side of thing, there are over 1,000 dogs euthanized in shelters every day. Marchant (2025) It is truly terrible to see these things happening. However, with the dedication of K9s for Warriors, we can make a difference to both statistics. We can save the lives of both veterans and rescue dogs! The statistics give us more than enough to prove that these dogs can help our veterans achieve a life full of independence, after fighting for ours! This is cost free to our veterans with the help from you! The money donated goes deep into training the rescue dogs to be excellent service dogs for our veterans. This money also goes toward pairing these dogs up with veterans! We are giving these veterans and rescue dogs a second chance at a life full of happiness.

"I’ve seen a lot in my life—more than I usually like to talk about. But one of the most powerful things I’ve ever witnessed wasn’t in combat. It was watching one of my closest friends, another veteran like me, meet his service dog for the first time.

Back then, he wasn’t in a good place. He barely spoke, didn’t sleep, and carried his trauma like armor. We used to talk all the time when we served together, but after we got out, it was like he disappeared inside himself. I knew that feeling all too well.

Then came Phoenix—quiet, steady, and somehow already knowing. She was a rescue trained by K9s for Warriors, and she didn’t bark or beg for attention. She just walked over, leaned into his side, and waited. No pressure. No demands. Just presence. At first, he froze up, the way he always did when things felt too close. But slowly, his hand found her back. And in that small, quiet moment, he let go of something he’d been holding for far too long—and finally exhaled.

That small moment changed everything.

Over time, I watched him come back to life. He started sleeping again. Talking more. Smiling. Phoenix didn’t just help him get through the day—she gave him a reason to show up for it. She didn’t just make things better. She made things possible.

K9s for Warriors does more than just pair veterans with service dogs—they create real, healing partnerships. For those dealing with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, or the invisible weight of war, these dogs offer something medicine and therapy sometimes can’t: connection. Most of the dogs come from high-kill shelters, and most of the veterans come from dark places. When they’re brought together, something incredible happens—they save each other.

That’s why I’m raising money. Because I’ve seen what this program can do. These dogs aren’t just companions. They’re lifelines. They’re second chances—for both the warrior and the K9.

Healing warriors and wagging hearts, these K9s and veterans need your support!

Hello, my name is Chris, I am a veteran who served in the United States Army for a little over 8 years as a 13B (cannon crew-member). The military has sent me all around the world, including Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Kuwait and Afghanistan. The military does a great job of sending you to all types of places and allows you to make life long friends but they also do a good job of taking that all away once you leave the military bubble.

Many (to include myself) have struggled mentally and physically to adapt after leaving the military bubble. From being on high alert, moving at 100 miles and hour, never catching a break to my biggest worry now being what I should make for dinner. The sudden change of pace has left a void that is difficult to explain to those who don’t have the same background.

When my wife and I rescued our dog he quickly became my best friend, it changed my life forever. I was forced to get off the couch in order to train, socialize, exercise and play with our dog. He gave me a reason to be outside, he gave me a reason to start running and become healthier and stronger. Walking to dog parks has given me the luxury to meet many veterans which turned into us talking about the army life and all the experiences that came with it which is something I did not know I needed.

K9s for Warriors is a non-profit organization that matches highly trained service dogs to military veterans, allowing our veterans to start living a full life again. My goal is to raise money for this charity so that veterans can experience what I have with my best friend. Getting out there and enjoying life isn’t easy but what makes it easier is having a battle buddy walking with you every step of the way. They deserve a chance to enjoy life just as I have.

Our Mission:

Everyday, 20 veterans lose their battle with PTSD. At the same time, thousands of shelter dogs face euthanasia. Paws for Patriots is teaming up with K9s For Warriors to change that. We are raising funds to provide veterans with highly trained service dogs - rescuing heroes and hounds.

On Sunday, November 10th, members and staff of SODO Fitness Mechanics will gather to do the CrossFit hero workout, CHAD, which is 1000 Weighted Box Step Ups. We do this workout annually in memory of Chad Michael Wilkinson of the US Navy who died on October 29, 2018, in Virginia Beach on active duty after 22 years of service. Wilkinson took his own life due to the effects of numerous deployments, several TBIs, blast wave injuries and PTSD.

Bringing awareness to the mental health issues many veterans face & raising funds to help provide treatment in a variety of ways is vitally important, so we chose to hold this event each year around Veteran's Day to play a small role in that.

This year we'll be raising money for K9s for Warriors, a non-profit that provides highly-trained Service Dogs (mostly rescue dogs) to military Veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma.

A donation of ANY amount is required as admission to participate in the event/workout, but we encourage you to make a donation, even if you can't join us in person. Every little bit helps and can make a difference in the lives of the men & women who have done so much to serve our country, and help save some dogs at the same time!

More information about K9s for Warriors: K9s For Warriors is the nation’s largest Veteran service organization focused on providing highly trained Service Dogs to Warriors. Our program is focused on mitigating the debilitating symptoms of service-connected traumas. We validate our methods through tireless research and make breakthroughs every day. Successfully guiding a Veteran through the K9s For Warriors program and providing them with a Service Dog doesn’t just change the Warrior’s life. It saves it.

The majority of our K9s are rescued from shelters. In saving these animals from abandonment or euthanasia, we give them purpose. Each pair who graduates from our program represent two lives saved – the Service Dog and the Warrior.

On January 3, 2023, our company was saddened by the sudden and unexpected loss of CDR Seth “Rosey” Rosenberry, a decorated military professional, devoted father, loving son, brother, and friend. Seth was known for his intelligence, quick wit, energetic spirit, and generosity of heart.

Seth was also known as a lover of animals. Whether you had the privilege of listening to Seth talk with great affection about growing up with his ducks and pot-bellied pig, Mucky; witnessed him passionately defend the mice that lived among the brigade of midshipmen in Bancroft Hall’s aging 6th wing; or knew of his volunteer work at local shelters, especially at times when Seth himself would benefit from the unique healing power of working with animals, it was evident that love and advocacy for animals was part of Seth’s character.

For this reason, all money raised for this memorial fund will be donated to K9s for Warriors. K9s for Warriors is an organization dedicated to providing highly-trained Service Dogs, many of which come from high-kill rescue shelters, to military veterans suffering from debilitating service-connected trauma.

We’re calling upon Seth’s friends, family, and shipmates to help honor his life, passion for animals, and commitment to service by funding this worthy cause.

Unity for Hope (UFH) 2023 is a fundraising event, which is taking place from 23rd – 30th October 2023. The event is being organised globally by Uniphar employees to support mental health.

The Uniphar global community of staff, friends, family and customers are joining forces to unify in hope. Uniphar global aims to achieve 20,000,000 steps, or equivalent in wheel rotations for the cyclists, to raise €200k. We’re asking everybody to take on the challenge of reaching the highest per capita number of steps to reach this goal.

This is a wonderful opportunity for us to give back every year. It’s also a great way to get to spend time with colleagues in a hybrid working world.

Hey there, our names are Zach, Alex, and George. We're just three seniors at the University of Pittsburgh that wanted to challenge ourselves and make a difference in the lives of veterans in the process. On Friday, March 3rd at 8 pm we will begin our challenge of running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours, known as "The Goggins Challenge". Yeah that's right, almost two full marathons in two days, and all while sleep deprived. And as a part of our run, we invite you to join us in helping make a difference!

STAY HARD!

In an effort to raise funds this Veteran’s Day, I will be running a ’’Treadmill Marathon’ at GMI’s WHQ on 11/10 (starting at 7am CST).

This cause is important to me because my family has a history of members who dedicated their lives to military service – in Great Britain and the USA, across both Army and Navy.

I am very encouraged (and motivated!) by the support already received, but I still need help reaching my fundraising goal of $1,000.

That said, I am reaching out to raise contributions – with 100% of the proceeds going to K9s for Warriors. This program provides highly-trained Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma. With the majority of dogs coming from high-kill rescue shelters, this innovative program builds unwavering bonds that facilitates collective healing and recovery.
