Help For Baby Trae And Family

On April 26th, Don and Saige's lives were dramatically changed by a series of events. First was the car crash, which left their vehicle totaled. Luckily, they were both okay, but decided they should probably get checked out at the hospital. Turns out, this was a blessing in disguise. It was found that Saige had severe pre-eclampsia and HELLP Syndrome, thus requiring her to have an Emergency C-section….. So, on April 26,2019 at 11:13 a..m., Trae Xavier came into this world at 25 weeks and 6 days, weighing only 1 pound 4 ounces!! Don and Saige knew they were in for a long journey, but weren't expecting the biggest roller coaster ride of their lives!! Today, Trae is 42 weeks and 1 day, and weighing 9 pounds 9 ounces. He has had so many ups, but also so many downs, and right now, he is having the fight of his life. On Tuesday, Trae and Saige Left the Boise NICU (Don would follow on Wednesday) for Seattle. Trae was to have surgery on a large PDA in his heart (this usually closes on it's own shortly after birth), which has never closed and has remained quite large.  However, upon arrival, Trae got very sick. He ended up coding, and ultimately got re-intubated. The doctors found that he has bilateral chronic subdural hematomas (meaning some small bleeds in his head that have been there a while), a UTI, and NEC (an infection of the intestines/bowels), while also ruling out meningitis. Because of this unexpected sickness, Trae will remain in Seattle much longer than anticipated. Saige has been unable to work so she can focus on and take care of Trae. Don's job has been very flexible, allowing him to be with his family, but unpaid. During this time, the bills at home continue to pile up, along with travel expenses, and they could really use some help so they don't have to stress about one more thing. Please consider donating to help this wonderful family out while they remain in Seattle indefinitely, by Trae's side. If you are unable to help, prayers are greatly appreciated, as he still has a long road ahead of him. Thank you so much from Saige, Don, and Trae!!
