Single Mom W/ 14 y/o Son Needs Help With Move In
I am a hard working 36 year old single mom with a 14 year old son, he is about to be a freshman. We have 5 pets, one Bernese mountain dog mix, two cats and two bunnies.
We recently came into hardship after my ex (not my baby daddy-baby daddy is cool) kicked us out of our house with zero notice on April 19, 2019. He and I had been running a business together at the location of our home and our relationship deteriorated throughout this rough winter when we became incompatible. He was 20 years older than me and became insanely possessive. The business was in his name and all of the bills were in my name so the situation became completely unfair for me when he kicked us out. My son and I scrambled to get a U-Haul and bill it to a credit card. I left that relationship and the business I loved with $250 of child support money and in a panic to switch the bills to my ex’s name. All this after working seven days a week for a year and a half to get that business going for him and being a faithful and devoted fiancé.
My son and I were in shock but were blessed enough to be able to move into a studio apartment with a $150 deposit down and a large amount of back rent owed. We had the keys to the studio apartment within two hours of being kicked out of our home where we lived for over one year. This was thanks to my brother from another mother and ex-boss at a small property management company in downtown Reno. The studio is in downtown Reno and is quite a small space for us to share with our pets. Not to mention the location is not a safe place to raise a child.
Thankfully, I work a full-time job as an account manager for a marketing firm plus I do Door dash and GrubHub and side jobs cleaning apartments so I have been able to keep up on our regular bills and groceries, car insurance and car payment etc. This still leaves me needing $1423 for the move-in cost for the apartment I was approved for in the part of town where my son has been going to school since kindergarten.
My goal is to have the entire $1423 by August 8th which is my move in date so that I can pay my back rent on my current studio apartment, have money for a U haul and also be able to pay my new apt September rent on time.
