Aspen’s Impact: Houses For Hope

Donation protected
On 26 August 2017, our lives were forever altered when, our granddaughter, Aspen Jayne, entered the world. For 233 days we were able to hold her and love her here on earth. On 15 April 2018, she was called home to heaven and is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Until we are reunited with Aspen in heaven, we want to honor her precious life on earth.

In Aspen’s memory, we will be supporting the ongoing efforts of Imani Milele Children to educate and feed some of Uganda’s orphaned and most vulnerable children. We have spoken in person with Pastor Moses, founder/president of Imani Milele, and his wife Madame Hopkins, dean of students; we have met the dedicated staff and visited several of Imani’s eight educational centers in Uganda. We are beyond impressed by the Imani ministry and the love they have for these children.

More than 5,000 children are currently being educated and some housed on Imani Milele Campuses, but there is a great need for additional facilities. The need is especially great at the Troas campus, where our sponsor children are from. The Troas campus is located in the Jinja region region of Uganda and is the educational center for more than 700 Imani Milele students.

In the fall of 2018, we began raising funds to meet the needs at Troas.  In January 2019, construction began on the first of three buildings in the classroom block with an expected completion of mid-April. Construction on the second building in the classroom block began in early April and is expected to be completed in late June.

We still have a long way to go to meet the needs at this campus. As we continue to raise funds, those funds will be used to build a third classroom building, purchase water harvest tanks, build bathrooms, teachers’ quarters, dorms, a kitchen and dining hall, a sick bay, an administration building, and a security fence.

With your help, we would like to continue to bless the students and staff at Imani Milele’s Troas campus.  Will you please join us in honoring Aspen's precious life, while changing the lives of some other precious children?

Currently many of the teachers are unable to live with their families due to inadequate housing.  Building on-campus housing will allow families to join the staff members and  live on-campus.

On-campus housing will ensure the teachers and their families are able to spend more time together. It will provide additional security and supervision on campus, particularly when the dorms are built.

Our housing campaign starts Wednesday, July 17 and will end Sunday, July 28th.

12 days to raise $25,000. We are asking our friends, family and followers to donate $5 (or more!) to this campaign AND SHARE!
